Brian Kellock was born in 1962. He graduated from University of Edinburgh in 1986 together with a B. Music (Hons). Since then he became on of the best piano players on the United Kingdom jazz scene, and became famous in other parts of the world. He used to work with such big names as Herb Geller, Stanley Turrentine, Fionna Duncan, Julian Arguelles, Scott Hamilton, Bill Watrous, Charlie Rouse, Art Farmer, Mark Murphy, Red Rodney and many others.

In 1995 Brian was a member of Australian trumpet wizard James Morrison’s Band. They toured all over Australia and Europe and recorded a live album at the New Morning Club in Paris for Warner Bros. His primary project is is his own trio, the John Rae Collective, as long ago as 1988. This line-up have been performing together ever sinve and has won them many fans featuring John Rae on drums and Kenny Ellis on bass.

Now Brian Kellock has the reputation of a talented piano-player and is recoognized as stellar across the world by singers and musicians such as Michael Moore, Madeline Eastman, Sheila Jordan and James Morrison.Equally at home with mainstream and contemporary jazz styles, Brian plays in the Oscar Peterson/ Monty Alexander genre that is closest to his heart. The first album of Brian’s trio “Something’s Got To Give” was recorded in 1998. It’s a wonderful CD that shows Brian Kellock and his trio at their best in a fantastic set of standards popularised by Fred Astaire.
